Malé Žernoseky: Hotels and Accommodation

The excursion through the Oparenské Valley begins in Malé Žernoseky. The picturesque valley is approximately 6 km long and stretches from Malé Žernoseky to Velemín.

Nature and Trails

The Lovoš Educational Trail, the yellow hiking trail and Cycle Route No. 25 all run together in Malé Žernoseky.

Wine

The Litoměřice Wine Trail is just over 15 km long and runs along both banks of the Elbe. Along the trail, visitors can visit local winemakers and taste their wines. Telephone advance booking is required, as, with a few exceptions, the winemakers are unavailable without a reservation.

The local wine selection includes the family-run Vinařství sv. Tomáše winery. It cultivates an area of approximately 8 ha; its vineyards are located in the Na Dobraji wine-growing area and partly on the slopes of the Oparenské Valley. The winery offers wine sales and tastings in its own wine cellar.

History and Local Culture

The Morový kámen commemorates the victims of the 1680 plague epidemic. It is located near the former Císařský mlýn, at an elevated site, and bears a relief depicting a double cross.

The Naučné putování skřítka Portáše educational trail offers 16 stops in the natural and cultural-historical context of 10 municipalities; three stops are located in Malé Žernoseky. The stop in Malé Žernoseky presents the history of the village through the figure of Žernosecký vodník and invites visitors to search for a hidden symbol.

Crossing by Water

The ferry between Malé Žernoseky and Velké Žernoseky carries pedestrians and cyclists in a small boat.
