Nová Ves: Hotels and Accommodation

The first written mention of Nová Ves dates back to 1347. The boundary of the Přírodní park Džbán nature park also runs through the village.

History and Culture

Nová Ves has a chapel with a bell tower, dating from around the 18th century. Near the chapel there is a monument to local victims of the First World War.

The dětský den, or Children's Day, takes place in Nová Ves every year in June. Every December, the Mikulášská nadílka, a St. Nicholas celebration for children, is also held.

Sports and Activities

On the outskirts of Nová Ves there is the paved multi-purpose sports field “Víceúčelové hřiště”. The enclosed multi-purpose sports field can be used by prior arrangement; keys and sports equipment can be borrowed from the municipal office.

Nature

An unnamed stream flows through Nová Ves and is a right-bank tributary of the Smolnický potok. “Pytlácká pomsta” refers to a wooden cross in the forest near Nová Ves and is associated with the activities of hiking and cycling.

Surroundings

The ruins of Zřícenina Pravda and the mountains Pozdeňský les [Mšec], Džbán, Loustín, and Oblík are located in the vicinity of Nová Ves.
