Nová Chribská: Hotels and Accommodation

Nová Chribská is characterized by a highly varied topography and has largely preserved the character of its built environment. Nová Chřibská features numerous examples of North Bohemian folk architecture, including log houses with the characteristic element known as a podstávka.

Culture and History

A monument commemorates 21 citizens from Nová Chřibská who fell on the battlefields of the First World War; it was restored in 2014 in their honour. The associated park was reconstructed in 2015. The stone walls were renewed, hand-hewn stone posts were made and installed, garden furniture was purchased, and the park landscaping was completed. The monument is located approximately 200 m below the railway crossing; when travelling from Chřibská to Rybniště, it is on the left opposite the bus stop.

The local history also includes a large steam sawmill, which was founded in Nová Chřibská in 1890 and owned by Rudolf Zimmer.

Landscape and Bodies of Water

The built-up area gives way to areas of tree vegetation as well as meadows and pastures. Nová Chřibská lies within the CHKO Lužické hory Protected Landscape Area, where Protection Zone III predominates. As a landscape character area, the locality forms the transition between the Krásnolipsko-Podluží and Kytlicko-Chřibsko landscape character areas.

The landscape includes watercourses and small bodies of water with accompanying vegetation. Velký rybník features a water surface with adjoining reed beds, damp, marshy and wet meadows, wet alder stands, and willow scrub, and lies on an important bird migration route.

Transport and Cycle Paths

Road II/263 forms the transport axis of Nová Chřibská. Regional cycle route CT 211 (Šluknovská) includes Section 12 near Nová Chřibská. In the context of the host municipality of Rybniště, important regional cycle routes run through the area and connect to cycle routes in the Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland region.
