Studený was first mentioned in writing in 1428. The summit of Studenec rises above the village to 735 m above sea level.

Local History and Monuments

Above Studený stands Toffels Cross, a sacred monument. It was restored as part of a restoration project and is located in the immediate vicinity of the path connecting Česká Kamenice and Chřibská.

Historical landmarks have also been documented in the village itself: the School Cross in Studený was forged in 1798. The smithy building on Studený’s village square housed the first classroom for children from Studený and Lipnice.

Nature

An iron lookout tower on Studenec was opened to the public in 1888. The lookout tower on Studenec was repaired and reopened to the public in March 2009.

The mountains Malý Buk, Klič, Bouřný, and Pěnkavči vrch are located in the vicinity of Studený.

Regional Context

The historic site of Hirniskretzschen is also located in the vicinity of Studený. In the wider surrounding region are Hohnstein Castle and the Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice church. In Kunratice, there is a new tourist circular trail with an interactive map and descriptions of the individual stops.
