Újezdeček: Hotels and accommodation

Újezdeček offers a view of the Ore Mountains. From the village square, you can see Mount Milešovka and the more distant Mount Kletečná.

Townscape and history

The Újezdeček land-use plan provides for preserving the Dukla settlement as an integral part of the municipality’s history and as a valuable residential development from an urban-planning perspective, with a central square. The character of Újezdeček was shaped in particular by mining and its direct connection to Teplice, especially in the area of public infrastructure.

Újezdeček was formerly known as Malý Újezd. Mining and glassmaking led to a sharp increase in the population here in the second half of the 19th century. Lignite mining developed in the cadastral area of Újezdeček in 1880.

The industrial history of Újezdeček includes the Fischman glassworks, which produced bottle and bijouterie glass, and the Ascher glassworks, which produced flat glass. The village also contains the remains of old farmsteads, old stone walls on buildings, and renovated entrance gates. A memorial to the victims of the First and Second World Wars stands on náměstí Boženy Němcové in Újezdeček.

Landscape and places to visit

Nature walks are possible on the reclaimed former spoil heaps near Újezdeček. From Újezdeček, trips can be taken in the direction of Kamenný pahorek. In the vicinity of Újezdeček, Lake Barbora lies at Kamenný pahorek and is used for diving. Lake Barbora is also a destination for holiday stays.
