Bukov: Hotels and Accommodation

The Kostel sv. Jakuba Většího Church dates from around the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. It has a Gothic chancel and an altar with Baroque statues of Saint Barbara and Saint Catherine on either side. The chancel contains the gravestone of Jan Radešínský, who died in 1603. Three bells hang in the tower; the largest dates from 1530.

Another historical monument is the Bukovský kámen. In 1926, it was incorporated into the memorial to those who fell in the First World War.

In the wider region around Bukov lies the Lísek castle ruin, formerly also known as Bukovec or Lejsek, which was probably built in the second half of the 13th century. The surviving remains include part of a large round late Romanesque tower, as well as the foundations and wall remnants of residential and utility buildings. Veveří Castle is also located in the wider region around Bukov.

Babylon Mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Bukov. Víckov Mountain is also located nearby. Sýkoř Mountain and Ambrožný Mountain are located in the surroundings of Bukov.

The “Zubří Trails – 5. For Uranium” cycling route runs via the Bukov/Lísek castle ruin and through Bukov.

Public bus route 841126 serves Bukov.

In addition to firefighting services, SDH Bukov is now involved in cultural and sports activities as well as work with children, organizing, among other things, sports afternoons, St. Nicholas celebrations, carnival events, and Christmas parties for children. In the past, SDH Bukov organized dances, church fairs, and balls; its members also founded a local amateur theatre.
