Hamry Nad Sázavou: Hotels and Accommodations
A marked circular trail gives Hamry nad Sázavou a clear, tangible dimension: the Hamerský Walking Circuit is 15 kilometers long, forms a loop around Hamry nad Sázavou, and is intended for visitors.
Nature
In the Sázava Valley lies Rozštípená Skála, a state-protected natural monument. The rock face there is divided by a weathered fissure approximately 10 meters long and about 2 meters wide. The landscape follows the upper course of the Sázava and its tributaries, which flow through numerous ponds.
Rozštípená Skála also offers climbing routes of all difficulty levels.
Trails and Activities
The Hamerský Walking Circuit can be completed entirely by bicycle. With sufficient snow cover, it can also be used for cross-country skiing. Mamlase can be reached via this circular trail beyond Hamroň.
The Žďár nad Sázavou–Šlakhamry bus route crosses the entire municipality, serves six stops there, and terminates in the Šlakhamry district. The Posázavská Cycle Route No. 19 also passes through the municipality as far as Pension Najdek; from there, it continues to Sázava.
Culture and History
Šlakhamr presents exhibitions on the local region’s ironworking tradition. During regular guided tours, visitors can see the water wheel in operation, powering the water hammer. Šlakhamr was originally a medieval iron mill; the facility was later operated as a grain mill until the Second World War.
The Kůň sculpture depicts a horse attempting to pull a cart out of the water and stands at the turnoff to Pension Na Ranči. Kůň also stands as a monumental sculpture at the horse paddock of the Na Ranči equestrian club in Hamry nad Sázavou. Hamroň is an abstract sculpture combining a snail and a frog.
