Rozsochy: Hotels and Accommodation
The station annex in Rozsochy is a cultural monument dating from 1903–1904 and has been preserved in an exceptionally authentic form. Its surviving features include stained-glass doors, decorative timber-gabled façades, shaped beam ends and stone corbels.
Culture and History
The oldest written mention of the church in Rozsochy known to date comes from 1285. The Church of St Bartholomew preserves an older structural core and was extensively remodelled in the Baroque style from 1763 onwards. It features late Baroque architecture typical of sacred buildings.
Several stone sculptures stand beside the church. The sandstone statue of St John of Nepomuk bears the year 1766 on its pedestal, while the sandstone statue of the Archangel Michael bears the year 1767. The sandstone statue of the Cross beside the church has the year 1772 inscribed on its pedestal.
Festivals and Folk Culture
The Ostatková zábava celebration, featuring the burial of Masopust, takes place in Rozsochy every year on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. At the end of 2025, it was added to the list of intangible elements of the traditional folk culture of the Vysočina Region. The Masopust burial ritual is based on defined ceremonial roles, including a master of ceremonies, bell ringers, a military guard, gravediggers, a widow and a priest.
The Bartolomějská pouť includes a morning Mass in the Church of St Bartholomew. It also features a craft market, fairground attractions, refreshments and fairground sales. Participation in the craft market requires one's own craft production or a practical demonstration of the production process.
Rozsochy also hosts an autumn pilgrimage with a church consecration festival on a Sunday around the feast day of St Gall, 16 October.
