Lány: Hotels and Accommodation

Lány lies at the foot of the Železné hory and has a varied relief. The entire municipal area belongs to the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area.

Landscape

The cadastral territory of Lány u Libice nad Doubravou lies predominantly in Zones II and III of the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area. In the southern part west of Suchá, the Hradiště locality extends into Zone I at its edge. Lány and Suchá lie predominantly in Zone II. This zone features a balanced ratio of natural features and human structures, enhanced ecological and aesthetic value, and favourable natural conditions for recreation.

At the southern edge of the settlement of Lány stands the tree known as “Lípa v Lánech”, which has been designated as a memorial tree. It is approximately 25 metres tall. The Lánská lípa is 500 years old.

Hiking and Cycling

The hiking loop through the Doubravské údolí runs through Lány. The KČT route “Route 1 – over the highest peaks of the Železné hory Protected Landscape Area” follows the green-marked trail from Libice nad Doubravou to Lány and leaves the settlement after approximately 100 metres.

The cycling route “With Doubravka through the Železné hory: a geocycling route in search of the memory of giant trees” is 38 kilometres long and starts and ends in Libice nad Doubravou.

Culture in the Village

In the centre of Lány stand a wooden bell tower and a stone cross dating from 1897.
