Hodice: Hotels and Accommodation

Hodice was first mentioned in 1303. On the road leading to Panenská Rozsíčka stands Münchova vila, an architecturally significant building designed by the Jewish architect Otto Eisler from Brno.

History and Historical Heritage

The fortress of Hodice was mentioned in 1377. It later disappeared as the last remaining evidence of the former Hodice estate.

Railway History

Hodice railway station houses the Kostelec–Slavonice railway exhibition. It presents a brief history of the railway line running from Kostelec in Moravia to Slavonice in South Bohemia. Visits are possible by arrangement with the museum administrator.

Landscape and Hiking Destinations

A larger forest complex extends east of Hodice, with Jelení hora located within it. At 652 metres above sea level, it is the highest peak in the vicinity of Hodice. Hodice is also a starting point for hikes to Roštejn Castle.

Events

Every year, a New Year's Eve ascent to Jelení hora takes place. Vepřové hody is considered the most popular event in Hodice and usually takes place on the first weekend in October.
