Kamenice: Hotels and Accommodation

The Renaissance fortress acquired its present appearance through renovations carried out in the mid-16th century. Its façade is decorated with sgraffito from the late 16th century. Today, the Renaissance fortress serves as a museum and can be visited by prior arrangement.

Culture

The Church of St. James the Greater preserves a late Romanesque core and a southern Romanesque portal. In the second half of the 15th century, it received a new Gothic presbytery with a triumphal arch. Fragments of late Gothic paintings of a rustic character have been preserved on the walls of its nave.

The Chapel of St. Anne is an example of small-scale centralized ecclesiastical architecture in a rustic setting dating from around 1730. To this day, it is used primarily for weekday religious services because it is more accessible. At the Chapel of St. Mark, also called the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk, the tradition of processions and prayers for favorable weather and a good harvest was revived on the occasion of the Feast of St. Mark.

The Kamenice St. James pilgrimage offers open monuments and art workshops. The Keramika U slunečních hodin studio occasionally opens its premises to individual and group visitors as well as for creative workshops.
