Měšín: Hotels and accommodations

Měšín combines bodies of water, historic small monuments, ecclesiastical architectural history, and a cycling route running through the village.

Water

The Měšínský potok stream flows through the Měšín area from southeast to northwest and has several tributaries. Prostřední Pond is one of the ponds on the Měšínský potok. As of January 1, 2026, the Municipality of Měšín approved leasing the pond to the Jihlava local branch of the Moravian Anglers’ Union for CZK 57,652 per year.

Culture and history

The niche chapel on the outskirts of Měšín along the road to Polná is an immovable cultural monument with the designation 24627/7-4851. It was already marked on a map from 1835 and is undoubtedly older. A cross on the outskirts of Měšín is also an immovable cultural monument, with the designation 68984/7-4852.

Měšín was located on the former provincial border between Bohemia and Moravia. In the past, this location frequently led to disputes over whether the village belonged to Bohemia or Moravia.

Faith

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Měšín belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Ždírec. It was built in 1770 as a rectangular structure with a tent roof and a small bell tower topped by an onion dome. Once a year, a pilgrimage takes place at the chapel following prior announcement.

Cycling route

KČT cycling route No. 16 passes through Měšín on the section from Hlinsko to Telč. It runs along paved roads, predominantly asphalt roads, and is suitable for all types of bicycles.
