Culture and history

The Baroque Church of St. Bartholomew is a protected cultural monument. It was built from 1780 to 1787 according to a design by Prague architect Jan Josef Pachner.

The granite Křížový kámen bears three irregular engraved crosses on its smoothed side. The memorial stone is located in the small wood called “Dubovo boroví” between Road 602 from Jihlava and the agricultural cooperative. The three crosses could symbolically represent the extinction of the Dub family.

The statue of the night watchman stands in Dušejov village square and was created as a new distinctive feature of the square. It symbolically commemorates the village’s former night watchman and older local rhythms of life. Also in the village square, the sculpture Spirit of the Tree is presented as the second patron of Dušejov village square; it is intended to show passers-by the way. The sculpture preserves the memory of the ash tree from whose wood it was made.

At the former site of Zemanův mlýn in Dušejov, a millstone provides a general reminder of the former mill; the site is freely accessible.

Activities and events

Dušejov’s multifunctional sports field is open to the public and can be used free of charge. Tennis, volleyball, nohejbal, basketball, streetball and badminton can be played there.

The traditional Pálení čarodějnic takes place on the football field in Dušejov. Before the bonfire is lit, the event includes a lantern procession with a children’s activity.

The traditional spring outing begins at the sakura tree in front of the Dušejov municipal office. Cesta za piráty was the 18th edition of the CESTA event series.

Geographical location

There is no marked hiking trail through Dušejov. The nearest railway station is in Dvorce u Jihlavy. Dušejov is located on Road 602, which connects Jihlava and Pelhřimov.
