Culture and Villagescape

The beginnings of settlement in Milíčov probably date back to the 13th century. The village square is designated as an ensemble of buildings of local significance. The stone wayside shrine at the intersection towards Hojkov in Milíčov is a protected cultural monument; the wayside shrine has been registered as a protected monument since 3 May 1958.

The protected boundary stone stands north of Milíčov on a field path towards Jankov. Based on comparative examples, the boundary stone in Milíčov can be dated to the late Middle Ages or the early modern period. The robust rectangular stele with rounded upper corners bears a raised relief of a cross pattée on its front.

Nature

The Na Oklice Nature Reserve is located in the Vysočina Region, in the Jihlava District, within the municipality of Milíčov in the cadastral area of Milíčov u Jihlavy. It protects near-natural transition mires, montane mat-grass meadows, wet cabbage thistle meadows, and vegetation resembling secondary montane heath vegetation with scattered woody plants, as well as stands containing significant plant and animal species.

The Milíčovský potok stream rises directly in Milíčov. At Nad Svitákem, its floodplain contains a mosaic of preserved transition mires, wet purple moor-grass or wet meadows, and montane mat-grass meadows with significant and specially protected species. The Milíčovská lípa lime tree was first designated as protected on 3 May 1984.

Regional bus route 764262 connects Jihlava and Nový Rychnov and serves Milíčov.

Events

The traditional witch-burning bonfire Čarodějnický rej is scheduled for 30 April 2026 from 6:30 p.m. at the village square in Milíčov.
