History

Gold mining is documented at Štítky in 1345. The Štítky fortification may have protected and controlled the mining of precious metals and enabled their temporary storage before transportation. The first written mention of Svojkovice dates from 1257.

Two large fields of mining pits and a single mining pit have been preserved on Hrachová hora. The pits are clearly visible in the terrain and are up to 3 m deep.

Nature

Woodland areas account for 38% of the area of Svojkovice. A continuous woodland complex is located in the eastern part of the Svojkovice area.
