Rančířov: Hotels and accommodations

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is considered the largest monument in the municipality of Rančířov. Its foundations date back to the second half of the 13th century.

Culture and history

A statue of Saint Joseph stands on the main road in Rančířov. A statue restored by Josef Moravec in 2009 is now located inside the Church of St. Peter and Paul.

Josef Moravec’s hrádek is considered an interesting building in Rančířov. The hrádek contains restored ceilings from houses reconstructed as part of Jihlava’s historic buildings.

Mining was probably already carried out in the Rančířov area from the second half of the 13th century on the slopes along the right bank of the Jihlávka stream. In the Rančířovský Les and Eisenhammer area, also known as V Ráji, eleven shafts are recorded on a plan from 1781 and a mining map from the 19th century.

Popický vrch, Sokolíčko, Rozhledna and Kalvárie hills are located in the vicinity of Rančířov.

Smetanovy sady Park is located close to Rančířov. In the wider regional surroundings of Rančířov are the Roštejn castle site (Doupě), the ruins of Janštejn Castle and the ruins of Orlík Castle.

Water and trails

Fishing is possible at the former military ponds in Rančířov in accordance with local fishing regulations.

One route leads from Sasov towards Rančířov and then turns towards the Okrouhlík recreation area.
