Černovice: Hotels and accommodations

Černovice lies at the confluence of two branches of the Černovický potok and on the southern slope of the 739-meter-high Svidník mountain. Marked hiking trails lead into the wooded slopes around Černovice.

Nature

There are several ponds and former mills along the Černovický potok in Černovice. The mountains Vrchy and Tlučin are located in the vicinity of Černovice. The Podstupský vrch and Hora mountains are also located in the surrounding area.

Culture

The deanery church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a monumental single-nave building with a cruciform floor plan, a tower above the façade, and side chapels; it stands on the site of the former Chapel of Saint Catherine.

The Želivský Kláštor monastery, the Svatý Jan church, and the Svatá Anna church are located in the wider regional surroundings of Černovice.

Routes

The viewpoint guide recommends starting the route at the church bell tower, continuing along Nádražní Street to the Černovice railway station on the Jindřichův Hradec–Obrataň narrow-gauge railway. The Černovické vyhlídky comprise six viewpoints; each one has a bench and distinctive signage made from a forked tree trunk. The viewpoints are connected by a 22-kilometer route that follows the contour lines.

The Černovice–Svidník–Svatá Anna cycling route passes through Černovice; from the market square, the red-marked trail leads to the accessible Jewish cemetery.
