Olešná U Pelhřimova: Hotels and Accommodation

Landscape

When climbing to Olešná on the Žirovský Circuit, there is a view of Křemešník, which lies 765 metres above sea level. Putimovský vrch, a mountain, is located in the vicinity of Olešná.

History and village structure

Olešná was first mentioned in 1379. The name Olešná originally referred to a stream densely overgrown with alders. The village is arranged irregularly along the Benešov–Jihlava state road; this road was built in 1846–1847.

The Žirovský Circuit

The 27-kilometre Žirovský Circuit leads via Pelhřimov, Olešná, Chvojnov, Rybníček, Rohův mlýn, Žirov, Strměchy, Horní Strměchy, Plevnice and Chválov back to Pelhřimov. After 4.5 kilometres, the circular route reaches the centre of Olešná, then continues along the road from Pelhřimov to Jihlava and turns uphill at the edge of the village onto a small road.
