In Horní Němčí, the Church of St. Peter and Paul defines the centre as a cultural monument.

Culture

The Myslivna is also one of the town’s notable buildings. The present building was rebuilt as a single-storey house in 1854. Between 1921 and 1925, the Myslivna was converted into its present form. It is also called “hájenka” and is one of the dominant buildings in the centre of Horní Němčí.

West of Horní Němčí lies the “Hřádek” hill. It is approximately three metres high and 17 metres wide. The central hill, as well as parts of the moat and rampart of a motte-and-bailey castle built in the 13th century, have also been preserved in the town.

The local tradition includes the festival known as “hody”, which is celebrated in the last week of June. The “Horněmčanský kroj” is also part of the cultural heritage: it belongs to the tradition of the “kroj nivnický” and is characterised by particular diversity. In Horní Němčí, opening the well-known spring in springtime is already a tradition.
