Tučapy between Chřiby Nature and Moravian Culture

The landscape of Tučapy includes the Koukolky Nature Monument. It is located in the cadastral territory of Tučapy, approximately 0.5 kilometers northwest of the village, and covers 1.3615 hectares. Koukolky preserves a unique xerothermic vegetation area with rare and protected plant species. For some of these species, the nature monument is the only known location in the eastern part of the Chřiby Hills.

The character of the village is reflected in its buildings and in a literary biography. The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius is a defining landmark of Tučapy and was built in 1934. The Chapel of the Most Sacred Heart of the Lord is also among the local monuments. The writer, translator, and publicist Bedřich Beneš-Buchlovan was born in Tučapy.

The past is also present across different periods. Tučapy once had a former fortress with three courtyards, which probably fell into decline in the 16th century; it has not been mentioned since 1579. Koukolky is one of the archaeological find sites in the vicinity of Tučapy. The area around Tučapy was already inhabited during the Upper Paleolithic.

Several traditional events are held throughout the year. Tučapská štamprla has taken place every January since 2007, usually accompanied by cimbalom music. In October, the traditional Slovácké hody s právem takes place, followed by a hodová dance event. Tučapské kosení takes place at the end of May or beginning of June as a mowing event modeled on an earlier rural tradition.

Another geographical connection is viticulture: Tučapy is located in a wine-growing region.
