Huslenky: Hotels and Accommodations

Huslenky combines protected mountain landscapes with a distinctive local cultural character. The Makyta Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral territory of the municipality of Huslenky in the southwestern part of the Javorníky Mountains, on Soláň sandstone. The area stretches between 620 and 922 m above sea level; its highest peak is Makyta.

Nature

The Makyta Nature Reserve includes a near-natural mountain beech forest complex with frequent occurrences of silver fir and sycamore maple. Numerous transitions to scree habitats provide a home for endangered and rare animal and plant species.

The Galovské lúky Nature Reserve is home to many specially protected and endangered plant species and is particularly known for the presence of species from the orchid family. It is classified in the first zone of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area.

Culture and Local Character

The Evangelical Church of Huslenky is a three-nave pseudo-style building constructed between 1873 and 1892. It was built to replace a wooden toleration church and is considered an important site in the history of religious disputes.

Kychová is a district of Huslenky and forms a hillside settlement above the Kychová stream. The buildings consist of Wallachian log structures; since January 1, 2005, Kychová has been protected as a heritage zone.

Hiking Trails

A shared section of the green- and blue-marked hiking trails leads from the center of Huslenky toward Zděchov and continues to the Galovské lúky meadows. After approximately 2 km, turn left at the Uherská–U Holubů trail sign junction onto the green-marked trail; after another approximately 3 km, turn left again at the Uherská–bus trail sign junction onto a forest path and climb approximately 1 km to the meadows below the summit of Hrachovec.

From Huslenky railway station, a marked hiking trail follows the green trail to the Valašské Kyčery saddle and then the red-marked trail to Makyta; the route is 12 km long.

The Bečva Bevlava Bečva route runs via Vsetín, Ústí, Valašská Polanka, Lužná, Zděchov, Uherská, Kychová, Huslenky, and Hovězí before returning to Vsetín.
