Prlov: Hotels and accommodations

Prlov is located in the northeastern part of the Vizovická vrchovina highlands, in a basin on the Prlovský potok stream. Forests cover about 40 percent of Prlov’s area of 712 hectares.

Nature

The Přírodní památka Prlov nature monument comprises flower-rich meadows with rare orchids and other specially protected plants. It consists of three separate areas located about 190 metres west, about 480 metres northeast and about 1.2 kilometres east of the centre of Prlov.

Neratovský rybník, a state-protected pond, is located near Prlov. Its biodiversity of waterfowl, as well as the presence of invertebrates, including dragonflies, and amphibians, is particularly noteworthy.

History and trails

Prlov is believed to have been founded around 1300; the first written record dates from 1361.

The Naučná stezka Prlovským lesem educational trail is located in the northern part of Prlov. It is 4.9 kilometres long, or around 5 kilometres, and presents historical and natural sights of the municipality of Prlov and its surroundings. It passes the Chapel of Saint Hubert and includes a forest rope playground, a replica of a partisan bunker and a memorial site associated with the tragedy of Prlov. The traditional firefighting sports event Memoriál obětí Prlova also takes place in Prlov, with participants commemorating the victims of this tragedy.

Culture and events

The public programme at Stodola u Rohlíků in Prlov includes theatre, concerts, stand-up, workshops, films and events for children. Stodola u Rohlíků can be reached by car, bus, bicycle or on foot; the Prlov, obec bus stop is about 300 metres away.
