Lidečko: Hotels and accommodations

At the northern edge of Lidečko lies the Čertovy skály natural monument. The rock formation consists of a sandstone wall approximately 150 m long and up to 25 m high. Climbers use it as a training rock with around 100 equipped routes. Directly below are a car park, a children's playground and a place to get refreshments; the ČD Lidečko-ves stop serves as the access point to Čertovy skály.

Nature and landscape

The part of Lidečko's cadastral area located east of the railway lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. The Kopce natural monument protects a large rockslide with crevice caves. These crevice caves are not open to the public because they are important wintering sites for bats.

Paths

The northern section of the Bevlava cycling route runs from Ústí u Vsetína through Lidečko to Valašské Příkazy. A path approximately 1 km long leads from the center of Lidečko to the Chapel of Saint Agnes of Bohemia.

Culture and history

The Baroque Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria is the oldest historic building in the municipality of Lidečko. Lidečko is also home to early Baroque bells dedicated to Saint Catherine, dating from 1664, and to the Holy Savior, dating from 1665. A typical Wallachian chapel was built here as early as 1949. The Vařákovy paseky educational trail presents the history of the burned-down Wallachian settlement of Vařákovy paseky.

Festivals and markets

The Dožínky harvest festival in Lidečko usually takes place at the end of August. The program includes a procession through the village in Wallachian traditional costumes, followed by a program beneath Čertovy skály. The Lidečkovský jarmark is held in the autumn, at the beginning of November, and includes a demonstration of home slaughtering as well as a presentation of products made by local craftspeople and entrepreneurs. Lidečko was granted the traditional right to hold a procession through the municipality from December 4 to 6, 2024.
