Culture

Mots’ameta is home to a monastery associated with the burials of David and Constantine. It is considered one of Georgia’s important holy sites because their tombs have been preserved there.

The monastery stands on a high, narrow promontory that juts into the Tskaltsitela Gorge, at a site where a fortress and the Church of the Annunciation once stood.
