Sairme: Hotels and Accommodation

Sairme’s hydro-mineral resources comprise four springs and five wells. The mineral water deposit is located on the northern slope of the Adjara-Imereti, also known as the Meskheti, mountain range. Geologists discovered the hot mineral water beneath Sairme in the 1920s. Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Sairme can then continue searching for accommodation.

Wellness

Sairme offers warm thermal water for bathing and four different types of mineral water for drinking. The wellness services also include hydromassage and mineral water baths.

The Sairme hotel complex includes thermal baths, a spa and a wellness centre equipped with German technology. The Sairme Resort Complex also comprises three hotels. A 24-hour outpatient clinic at the resort prescribes individual mineral water treatment courses and recommends spa and rehabilitation procedures. The Sairme Resort Complex operates year-round.

Nature

Sairme is located in the municipality of Baghdati, amid coniferous and deciduous trees. The Sairme Desert and the Sairme Columns are located near the town of Sairme. A specially constructed footpath of around three kilometres leads through varied forest towards the Sairme Columns; the hiking trail passes the ruins of an old St George’s Church.

The Sairme Columns massif is 3 kilometres long, 30 metres high and has a circumference of around 12 metres. The Sairme Zipline consists of two sections measuring 500 and 300 metres. The 500-metre section offers views of forested mountains. The Sairme Zipline is available year-round.

History

A local legend links the name Sairme to brothers who followed reddish-coloured water from a wounded deer.

Routes and Activities

The Abastumani–Zekari Pass–Sairme connection includes a 45-kilometre off-road route and a 38-kilometre cycling route to Sairme; the cycling route takes around seven to eight hours. The Sairme Resort Complex offers Alpine jeep tours and horse riding.

Geographical Location

Sairme lies 950 metres above sea level in a subtropical mountain zone. The drive from Kutaisi to Sairme takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
