Landscape and Churches by the Water
A defining landscape feature of Crevedia lies on the dam between Lakes Zmeul and Buftea. There, in the village of Mănăstirea in the municipality of Crevedia, stands the historic church “Sf. Nicolae†in Rebegești, now Crețulești, known as “Biserica dintre ape.†It is located on the dam that separates the two lakes. The location connects the church building with a clearly defined transition between two bodies of water. When visiting churches, current opening hours can be checked before setting out. The combination of the religious building, dam and lakes gives this section of the landscape its own spatial character.
Churches and Archaeology
In Mânăstirea, municipality of Crevedia, stands the Orthodox church “Sf. Nicolae,†dated to 1669. It is registered under reference DB-II-m-A-17443 in the Romanian List of Historic Monuments. In Cocani, also in the municipality of Crevedia, the Orthodox church “Sf. Voievozi†is dated to 1800. Church visits can therefore cover two different historical periods within the municipality. For those interested in culture, churches from two dated periods are located alongside an archaeological destination within the municipality.
South of Cocani, on the left bank of the Crevedia River, lies the Cocani–Vii archaeological site. Its location is defined by its position south of Cocani and on the left bank of the river. Before visiting an archaeological site, current information on opening or visiting hours can be checked.
Palace and Monuments in the Wider Area
The Cotroceni Palace is part of the wider regional surroundings of Crevedia. Obeliscul ICE LOUNGE, Statuia Wolfgang Goethe and Fântâna Franceză are also located in this wider regional area; all three are monuments. When planning visits to monuments, current opening hours or time-related information can be checked in advance.
Parks
Several park destinations are also located in the wider regional surroundings of Crevedia. These include Parcul Herastrau, Floreasca Park and Parcul Automatica. Bazilescu Park, by contrast, is considered part of the area around Crevedia. For park visits, current opening hours can be checked before setting out.
Getting There and Local Market
The municipality of Crevedia is crossed by national road DN1A. This road connects Bucharest with Ploiești via Buftea. In addition, the municipality is served on the Bucharest–Ploiești railway line by the Dârza halt. For journeys by road, current route conditions can be checked before setting out. For rail journeys, current timetable information should be checked before departure.
Piața AgroreX in Crevedia is a market exclusively dedicated to local vegetable and fruit producers. Seasonal produce is offered there directly by Romanian farmers. For market visits, it is advisable to check the current opening hours before setting out. Seasonal produce is part of the range offered there by the Romanian farmers who sell their products directly at the market.
