Culture and history
The Muzeul Unirii is housed in the former border guard post of Cornu Luncii, which was established in 1809. The museum displays photographs and documents from approximately 100 years ago connected with the entry of the Romanian army into Bukovina.
The Panteonul Eroilor is dedicated to the fallen and members of the commune from the two world wars, the 1989 Revolution and the areas of deployment, as well as to the 346 heroes of Cornu Luncii Commune.
The church of Mănăstirea Păiseni Monastery is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God. The wall paintings in the church were created by craftsmen from Ukraine; two mosaic icons of Saints Michael and Gabriel are located at the entrance to the monastery.
The Monumentul Eroului-Poet Ioan Grosaru is located in Păiseni. Maintenance and beautification work was carried out there in 2026.
In Păiseni, a museum has been established in the birthplace of the poet-hero Ion Grosaru, in his former home. It comprises two rooms and a hallway.
Events
Festivalul Produselor Tradiționale is part of the Cornu Luncii Commune’s program to promote local traditions, customs, traditional costumes and traditional singing. Festivalul de Datini și Obiceiuri is an event organized by Cornu Luncii Commune to promote local traditions.
The local “Hora Gospodarilor” festival in Cornu Luncii features dancing and folk music and takes place in March.
Local life
“Satul românesc de altădată” is located in Sasca Nouă in Cornu Luncii Commune. At “Satul românesc de altădată”, visitors can see sheep, ponies, roosters, peacocks and rabbits. Beef soup, various grilled dishes, Scrijele, sheep’s cheese and platters of smoked meats are offered there.
