Festivals and Art
Until 2017, the family of Toader and Angela Ignătescu organized the creative camps in Poiana Dacilor every year – and had already been doing so for more than a decade. The creative camp in Poiana Dacilor brought together artists and was visited by visitors while it was taking place.
Poiana Dacilor is home to stone sculptures of Burebista and Decebal, as well as a wolf’s head carved from wood as the central symbol of the Dacian battle standard.
In 2017, the commune’s summer patronal festival in Păltinoasa, dedicated to Saint Ilie, was titled “Ramuri de Paltin”. In 2017, the “Ramuri de Paltin” festival in Păltinoasa featured artistic programs by local and invited artists.
The eighth edition of the “Tiberiu Cosovan” International Camp for Visual Arts took place in summer at the home of sculptor Toader Ignătescu in Păltinoasa.
