Bobrovec has a clear connection to the Western Tatras: the 1,805 m-high Sivý vrch, part of the Western Tatras, can be reached from Bobrovec; the hike offers views of Liptov and Orava. Other facets can be found in the valley itself, along the various routes, in the villagescape and among the traditional products of Salaš Pastierska.

Nature

The valley through which Bobrovec stretches was formed by the Jalovec stream. The Jalovecká dolina contains an almost complete example of the flora and fauna of Tatra National Park. The landscape also has a botanical peculiarity: the rare plant klinček lesklý grows in the Jalovecká dolina; it is found only in Slovakia and is considered a West Carpathian paleoendemic. It already existed during the Tertiary period.

Trails

The “Babky z Bobrovca” route is classified as an alpine hike, ridge hike and educational trail.

At the starting point of the hike to Sivý vrch in Bobrovecká vápenica, there is a free car park with sufficient capacity. The “Babky z Bobrovca” ski touring route also begins at this car park in Bobrovecká Vápenica. The cycling route from Trstené via Bobrovec and Jalovec to the Bobrovecká Vápenica junction passes through Bobrovec before reaching this junction.

Culture

In the villagescape, the St. Joseph Column commemorates the carpenters’ guild in Bobrovec, which left it behind. The tower of St. George’s Church contains a bell from 1527. St. George’s Church also houses two paintings of Saint George, including one depicting him on horseback.

Culinary specialities

At Salaš Pastierska, children can ride ponies. Traditional sheep’s-milk specialities are produced there and sold in the local koliba. These include fresh and smoked sheep’s cheese, sheep’s bryndza and Žinčica.

Also make sure that the offer reflects your desired length of stay and number of guests. This makes it easier to compare the practical differences between the listings. Do not compare just the name, but the full terms and conditions of each offer, and base your decision on them. Also pay attention to the price components and the booking or cancellation conditions stated there before comparing the listings with one another. When comparing hotels or other offers, it is also worth looking at the exact location description, the type of accommodation and the stated occupancy. Check which services are included in the price and which price components are listed separately. Minimum stays, arrival conditions, as well as cancellation deadlines and possible cancellation fees may also vary between listings. This keeps the selection oriented towards your own dates and the published terms and conditions.
