Culture and History
In 1889, Vince Vermes had a simple Roman Catholic church built on his own property in Bogyarét. It is dedicated to Ružencovej panny Márie. The Church of Ružencovej panny Márie was restored in 1998. A wayside shrine stands directly to the right of the entrance to the church in Bogyarét. In the cemetery next to the Roman Catholic church, there is a sandstone crucifix with its back facing the church.
Another wayside cross stands outside the center of Bogyarét in a field near a group of farm buildings. The shrine is said once to have contained a statue of Saint Joseph. In the past, a procession led to the wayside cross during the Rogation Days.
