Nemški Rovt: Trails, Culture and Mountain Views

The “Nemški Rovt and Ravne from Bohinjska Bistrica” hiking route offers views of the Bohinj Valley and the surrounding mountains. St. Achatius Church in Nemški Rovt was built on medieval foundations and reconstructed several times. On its southern exterior wall, there are presumably preserved remnants of a fresco depicting Saint Christopher, probably dating from the second half of the 15th century. The church also houses a Gothic relief entitled “The Meeting of Joachim and Anna at the Golden Gate,” dated to around 1525. The old Kobal Farm in Nemški Rovt preserves Baroque frescoes from 1777 on its façade.
