Štorje: Church, Stone Gallery and Gin – Find Hotels

St. John the Baptist Church in Å torje is designated as a cultural monument of local importance. The neoclassical building was erected on the site of an earlier church dating from the mid-17th century. The present church building was modelled on the Church of St. Anthony the New in Trieste.

Štorje's historical remembrance also includes a traditional memorial ceremony in honour of the Partisan Marjan Štoka, which took place on Sunday, 18 January 2026. Pr' Komarjevih is a small family business that has been operating since 1850 and is primarily dedicated to producing Teran. Later, Komarjev medeni gin B+ was also produced there, refined with Karst honey and herbs.

The basic gin tasting at Pr' Komarjevih includes three different gin flavours and a homemade snack from the Karst. The distillation process, different types of gin and their history, as well as the herbs of the Karst, are presented during the tasting. Tastings at Pr' Komarjevih are available only by prior appointment.
