Loče: Hotel and 21 km Circular Hike
The protected market-center area of Loče is intended to preserve its historical function; its urban-planning and street-layout design, as well as the typological architectural features of its traditional buildings, are also to be retained. Hiking
The Loško-Zbelovska Mountain Trail begins in Loče at the Lopan tourist farm. It is a 21 km circular hike with 630 m of total ascent and a walking time of eight hours. The route thus combines a clearly defined length with an equally specific elevation gain and duration.
The Loško-Zbelovska Mountain Trail offers beautiful views, as well as the Church of the Mother of God in Ljubična, the Marian Steps, numerous chapels, the railway underpass on the Maribor–Celje line, and pleasant villages. These listed points of interest range from sacred buildings and small religious wayside markers to a distinctive infrastructure feature and the villages along the route.
On the third Sunday of every September, the Loče Mountaineering Association organizes a guided or group hike along the Loško-Zbelovska Mountain Trail, during which participants collect stamps. The recurring date and stamp collecting are part of this communal hiking day.
Culture
The Church of the Holy Spirit stands in the center of the small settlement of Loče. It was first mentioned in written sources in 1434 and has a richly Baroque interior with three altars. The church can be visited free of charge by prior arrangement with the TIC – Tourist Information Center of Slovenske Konjice.
Dvorec Pogled stands on a gentle hill above Loče. The present-day Dvorec Pogled is believed to have been built around 1524. The manor house can be reached via a marked cycling route; the Loško-Zbelovska Mountain Trail also passes by the manor house.
