Slovenske Konjice: Hiking, Culture and Wine

A shorter hike, Slovenske Konjice–Skala, leads from the town's sports centre over 3 km (round trip) to a viewpoint on Konjiška gora. The Zmajčkova gozdna učna pot, a forest educational trail with 12 thematic stations, is also 3 km long. Above Slovenske Konjice, Konjiška gora offers a network of hiking trails, forest educational trails, parks and other recreational opportunities in the forests. This means that different trail lengths and landscapes are available side by side, without the individual routes following the same course.

A separate route can also be followed by bicycle: the Slovenske Konjice–Zlati Grič cycling route begins at Mestni trg and is 2.77 km long. It runs over asphalt and gravel.

Stari trg preserves the historic structure of Slovenske Konjice and is suitable for walks; a stream is one of its defining features. Stari trg, together with the town park, acquired its present appearance after renovation in 2013 and is considered a particularly tourist-friendly place. The historic traces also include the castle ruins. They are among the most significant castle ruins in Styria; the castle was first mentioned in 1165.

The Muzej gasilstva Dravinjske doline is known for its collections on the cultural and social history of firefighters. In addition, the museum of PGD Slovenske Konjice can be visited by prior arrangement.

Čebelarstvo Žvikart offers visitors tastings of sweet honey products. At the same time, the apiary showcases its work and explains the importance of apiculture. The Zlati grič wine shop offers wines from Slovenske Konjice and homemade dishes from the surrounding area. This places honey, beekeeping, wine and regional cuisine side by side, each with clearly named providers.

The golf course in Škalce is located among vineyards in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Slovenske Konjice and has 9 holes.
