Uzbekistan is one of the famous Central Asian states. Uzbekistan is known primarily for the ancient cities of Bukhara and Samarkand. These unique cities are the pearls of Middle asiaculture. Mosques and palaces, mausoleums and madrasas of Bukhara and Samarkand are all bearing the imprint of antiquity and are considered to be remarkable monuments of eastern architecture. Located on the Great Silk Road, Bukhara and Samarkand were considered to major trading and cultural centers of Asia even before the Common Era. Now the centers of these cities were declared by the government to be an architectural reserve zone.

Like most former Soviet republics Uzbekistan has recently started actively to raise its tourist potential. Quite recently 4-star hotels were built in Urgench and Samarkand, new tours and travel routes were developed in Uzbekistan, including extreme safari in the desert Kyzyl-Kum and ethnographic tour to Baysun.
