Culture and History
Jamina Sredi is located in the central part of Punta Križa.
Archaeological research at Jamina Sredi has uncovered evidence of Paleolithic hunters and Neolithic farmers.
Jami na sredi consists of two interconnected caves. They measure 28 by 16 metres, the interior is 28 metres high and features a central opening.
The path to the Church of Our Lady of the Vine leads through traditional grazing parcels where sheep still graze. The original Gothic Church of Our Lady of the Vine was incorporated into a larger church in the 18th century. A pilgrimage on 2 July traditionally celebrates the Visitation there.
The free-standing Church of Saint Plato was built during Byzantine rule in the 7th to 9th centuries.
The 12th-century Church of Saint Vitus stands on an artificially raised hill above prehistoric burial mounds.
Coast and Leisure
In the area of Punta Križa, the Baldarin naturist camp offers camping, tennis, basketball, beach volleyball and mini golf. The sandy beaches of Bokinić and Lučica are suitable for swimming; between them are further small pebble beaches and a long rocky stretch of coast.
Local Flavour
Sansigot is an indigenous red-wine grape variety from Lošinj, cultivated and vinified in Punta Križa.
