Culture and History

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was built in 1854 in the upper part of Čisovice. Čisovice is first mentioned in a deed of donation from 1037. Historically, local occupations in Čisovice included wickerwork and the production of birch brooms. Historical references from the 14th century suggest that gold panning took place in the area around the Bojovský stream.

The railway connection between Prague and Dobříš contributed to the rise of tramping in the valley of the Bojovský stream.
