Dobrovice: Hotels and Accommodation

Culture and History

The area around Dobrovice is considered the birthplace of sugar beet cultivation in the Czech Republic. During the molasses campaign, visitors aged six and over can tour the Tereos TTD, a.s. industrial distillery in Dobrovice.

East of Dobrovice's main square, the Church of Saint Bartholomew, together with the former cemetery and its enclosure, forms a closed complex. The Church of Valdštejn is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Dobrovice.

The route “Dobrovice – Vinařice – Chloumek – Boží Voda – Bojetice – Dobrovice” is an 11 km circular trail starting and ending in Dobrovice, as well as a moderately difficult excursion that leads predominantly along paved paths.

The “Svatojiřským lesem” cycling tour is an easy excursion and is suitable for all types of bicycles. The route “Z Dobrovice do Jabkenické obory a zpět” is an 18 km excursion starting and ending in Dobrovice.

Practical Information

The observation tower of Dobrovice Town Hall is open every weekday during the information centre's opening hours; groups can also visit it at weekends by prior arrangement. On 17 August 2026, the water in the Dobrovice outdoor swimming pool was assessed as suitable for bathing.
