Zakopaná: Hotels and Accommodation

Zakopaná is one of the boundary points of the Příhrazské skály Nature Reserve.

Nature and Landscape

Příhrazské skály lies between Dneboh, Olšina, Mužský, Příhrazy, Zakopaná and Srbsko and forms a complex of rock cities with neovolcanic bodies. The rock-city complex of Příhrazské skály comprises 178 towers and peripheral massifs.

In the area of Branžež and Zakopaná, a 2.5-kilometre-long and 3-metre-thick volcanic dike runs in a WSW–ENE direction. In the municipality of Branžež, which includes Zakopaná, pine forests grow on sandy soil; numerous sandstone rocks are scattered throughout the surrounding romantic valleys.

Hiking and History

The Zakopaná stop is considered a particularly suitable starting point for an excursion to Příhrazské skály. An approximately nine-kilometre circular route begins in Zakopaná and leads via a detour to the ruins of Hynšta.

The basalt summit of Mužský offers views of the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše). In the vicinity of Zakopaná, a monument on Mužský commemorates a battle fought there in 1866 during the Austro-Prussian War.

Water

Komárovský rybník is located between Branžež, Zakopaná and Srbsko. Its surroundings are one of the centres of tourism and offer opportunities for camping and water sports.
