History and Culture

The first written mention of Chodouň dates from 1271, when the village was mentioned as part of the Žebrák estate. A memorial plaque is located on the birthplace of the composer Josef Poncar, who was born in Chodouň. Josef Poncar also composed the Chodouňská Polka. The pseudo-Romanesque Chapel of St. Ludmila in Chodouň also stands out for its unusual appearance.
