Hiking trails

The hike from Chotěšov to Vlčí hora begins in the village square in Chotěšov. In the area around Rudolfova myslivna, there are also modest remains of prehistoric burial mounds.

The remains of Šprymberk Castle are best reached via a forest path that begins at the crossroads in front of the red barrier. Two deep ditches mark the site of Šprymberk Castle.

Culture and history

The Boží muka u Chotěšova wayside shrine is a late Baroque example of the rarer triangular wayside shrines. Its ground plan presumably refers, in the spirit of 18th-century Baroque mysticism, to the mystery of the Holy Trinity.

In the wider regional area around Chotěšov are the Svatý Prokop monument, the Zřícenina Lina ruin, the Zřícenina Pravda ruin, and the Týřov ruin.

Landscape

In the immediate vicinity of Chotěšov are Spálený vrch hill [Petrohrad], Špičník hill [Petrohrad], (Lovíčský les) hill [Hořovičky], and Peklo hill [Petrohrad-Bílenec].

Traffic information

Due to the complete closure of road III/2243 in Petrohrad, most services on bus route 766 will be diverted from 15 June to 15 November 2026 and will not serve the “Jesenice, Chotěšov” stop; services 106 and 113 are excluded.
