Divišov: Hotels and Accommodation

The Church of Saint Bartholomew in Divišov was first mentioned in written sources around 1350 as a originally Gothic building inspired by Spanish architecture.

Culture

After the devastating fire of 1742, the church was rebuilt between 1744 and 1748 in the late Baroque style. Its wooden pulpit from 1751 is richly decorated with rocaille ornamentation and the sculptural coat of arms of the Roggendorf and Götzen families. The Museum of Jewish Community Life in Divišov presents the history of Jewish settlement in the region.

Nature

After climbing 151 steps to a height of 30 metres, the Špulka lookout tower offers views of the Benešov region, the Sázava Valley, Ještěd, Velký Blaník and other destinations. Admission to the lookout tower is free, and the tower is open continuously from Monday to Sunday. The path to the lookout tower includes a small pond with aquatic animals. The geological locality Na Stříbrné is also situated in the vicinity of Divišov, featuring a fragment of species-rich beech forest thinned by limestone quarrying and a population of daphne.

Swimming and Trails

The Divišov natural swimming pool has a large water slide; its water is also suitable for allergy sufferers. The nature trail of the knight Kryštof Jan Šice comprises ten stations and is particularly suitable for a one-day family outing.
