Dlouhopolsko: Hotels and Accommodation

The Dlouhopolsko National Nature Monument covers 23.8 hectares of meadows on the southern and southeastern shores of Dlouhopolský rybník. The local population of marsh orchid (Orchis palustris) at Dlouhopolský rybník is among the largest in the Czech Republic.

The surrounding landscape also includes the Obora forest area, which covers an area of 800 hectares.

Landscape

Dlouhopolsko lies in a gentle valley basin that gradually transitions into a low hill in the west. Dlouhopolský rybník lies between Báňský kopec and the southern side of Dlouhopolsko. A road divides the pond at its narrowest point into the southern section, Velký rybník, and the northern section, Králík.

Culture

The monument to those who fell in the First World War is the work of sculptor František Petera from Chlumec nad Cidlinou and was ceremonially unveiled on 28 October 1921. A new monument to T. G. Masaryk, featuring a new white sandstone bust, was unveiled in Dlouhopolsko in 1991.

The bell tower in front of house no. 71 preserves a bell that was moved there from Malá strana. The remains of Dlouhopolsko fortress were discovered in the early 1930s on a small hill in the middle of Dlouhopolský rybník. Processions and pilgrimages to the Boží muky began in Dlouhopolsko in 1902.

Location and Events

Dlouhopolsko lies along the international road between Prague and Hradec Králové. An event called “Dlouhopolská šlápota” was scheduled to take place in Dlouhopolsko on 24 May 2025.
