History and culture

The Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene was added to Dolní Břežany Château between 1885 and 1887.

Hradišťátko is an early medieval fortified settlement on a promontory in the western neighboring area of the municipality of Dolní Břežany. The fortification of Hradišťátko has been preserved as a sharp edge; the former rampart is best preserved on the southwestern and eastern sides, and a ditch was also dug in front of the rampart.

The Regional Information Centre in Dolní Břežany presents the local settlement history from prehistoric times to the present day. ZÁVIST CAVE at the Regional Information Centre in Dolní Břežany is a multi-projection installation for visualizing historical scenes.

There are several cycling loops in the Dolní Břežany area that are connected to Prague’s and the national cycling networks or have been prepared for such a connection. There are rest areas and information boards along the cycling routes.

The 16.3-kilometre route “Přes Šance do Károvského údolí” passes through the Šance section of Hradiště Závist, where visible remains of Celtic defensive ramparts have been preserved.
