Domousnice: Hotels and Accommodation

Today’s Domousnice Château was created around 1730 by remodeling an older manor house. Records from 1405 state that Karel Haras z Bosyně was the owner of the estate and part of the noble fortress that stood on the site of today’s Domousnice Château.

History

In 1911, Mr. Kittl, the father of the singer Ema Destinnová, chose Domousnice Château for her summer stay. Jan Petr Rašín is credited with creating the Domousnice Château park. The Domousnice Château park features trees with protected memorial status, as well as statues of a woman in antique dress, a bearded man, and the Virgin Mary.

Nature

Domousnice lies in a gently rolling landscape where forests give way to areas of arable land and meadows. At 365.5 m above sea level, Mílová Hůra is the highest elevation on the northeastern side of Domousnice. From Domousnice, there are distant views to the north of the layered horizons of Český ráj, the foothills, and the mountain ranges.

Wine

Zámecké vinařství Munzar in Domousnice was founded in 2004 and has 7 hectares of vineyards. The winery on the grounds of Domousnice Château offers wine tastings with tours of the vineyards and accessible parts of the château. Zámecké vinařství Munzar offers wine tastings for individuals without prior booking, for individuals by reservation, and for groups of fewer than 30 people by reservation.

Paths

A green-marked hiking trail leads from Domousnice through Jabkenicko Nature Park to the Jabkenická obora game preserve. The “Cycling for Music” cycle route is 22.1 km long and runs through a gently rolling, forested landscape.
