Observatory

The Žebrák Observatory regularly offers advance-planned observation sessions, observations of exceptional celestial events, as well as additional sessions scheduled at short notice depending on the weather. Observation sessions can be reserved in advance.

The program includes guided tours of the observatory's rooms and equipment, demonstrations, and, in particular, a visit to the dome with the main telescope and an exhibition about the ESO Universe.

In favorable conditions and with clear skies, the Žebrák Observatory allows visitors to observe the Sun during the day and interesting celestial objects at night.

Culture and history

The town museum in Žebrák is located in a former school building on the town's main square. It presents two permanent exhibitions and one seasonal exhibition. The Jaroslava Hněvkovský Gallery is a permanent exhibition of the artist's work, supplemented by photographs and sketches.

The Church of St. Lawrence is located in the middle of Žebrák's main square. East of the Church of St. Lawrence, along the axis of the presbytery, there is a group depicting Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1727, created by Karel Josef Hiernle. After being housed in a restoration workshop and lapidarium from 1982 to 2018, the group was placed in a pentagonal glass display case after its restoration and return, to protect it from the weather.

The Church of U Svatého Petra is located in the vicinity of Žebrák.

Holý vrch hill lies in the immediate vicinity of Žebrák. The Plešivec and Hřeben hills are also located around Žebrák.
