Jarpice: Hotels and Accommodation

Jarpice combines distinctive sacred and memorial architecture with a clearly defined landscape: the village lies in a depression through which the Vranský and Pálečský streams flow, bounded by steeper slopes.

Culture

The Kinsky Funeral Chapel complex is located in the Budenice district of Jarpice. It is a remarkably valuable example of funerary architecture by Viennese architect Heinrich Koch. At its centre stands a chapel with a cruciform floor plan, vaulted by a dome at the crossing. The protected Kinsky Funeral Chapel complex also includes an enclosing wall with two gates, a statue of an angel, an allegorical statue of a woman, a park and the associated plots of land.

The important pilgrimage church Kostel sv. Isidora, dating from 1680–1682 and featuring valuable sculptural decoration, is also located in the Budenice district of Jarpice. Kostel sv. Isidora is a single-nave, oriented building with an oval central space on a Greek-cross floor plan, dating from the same period. The early Baroque grand portal with a volute gable is complemented by sculptures by J. J. Bendl.

The historic building stock includes the Sýpka, a two-storey stone granary of Renaissance origin, registered as an immovable cultural monument. Baroque wooden structures have been preserved inside the Sýpka; parts of the façades retain historic layers of plaster with Renaissance sgraffito and Baroque plasterwork.

The Chapel of St Isidore stands on the village green of Jarpice, on the road to Horní Kamenice. It has been listed as a cultural monument since 1958. The Chapel of St John of Nepomuk is a small Baroque central-plan building dating approximately from the 18th century. It stands in a meadow on the road to Vyšínek.
