Dřetovice: Hotels and accommodations

Dřetovice preserves several traces of its history in the village center and its buildings. The archaeological site in the village center covers the period from the Middle Ages to the modern era. Finds of medieval pottery have also been recorded in Dřetovice.

Culture and history

At the northern edge of Dřetovice stands the Church of Saint Wenceslas in a slightly elevated position; it is surrounded by a cemetery. It is the only surviving remnant of the vanished medieval village of Královice. Originally Romanesque, the church was later rebuilt in the Gothic style and acquired its present appearance in the 18th century. It contains rare figural and heraldic tomb monuments from the late 16th century.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary, a late Baroque building, stands on the main road. It is a protected cultural monument and has been under heritage protection since May 3, 1958.

The local cultural heritage in Dřetovice also includes two old mills. The village also has a monument to those who fell in the World Wars.

Landscape

Dřetovice lies in a flat valley. Most of the buildings are located on the slope on the right bank of the Dřetovický potok.

Transport

Dřetovice lies on Road II/101 between Kladno and Kralupy nad Vltavou. The village is also connected by single-track railway line 093 between Kladno and Kralupy nad Vltavou; the line belongs to the national railway network.
