History and Religious Buildings

Only the remains of the ramparts and masonry of Karlík Castle survive; judging by these traces, it was more likely a small castle. During the reign of Charles IV, it was an important part of the defensive system protecting Karlštejn. The castle also protected a historic route from Prague via Vonoklasy and Mořina to Karlštejn.

The Romanesque Rotunda of Saint Martin in Karlík is considered the first Christian church in the village and was probably founded during the reign of Přemysl Otakar I toward the end of the 12th century. The church in Karlík was substantially enlarged in the Baroque style in 1767, restored inside and out in 1834, and completely rebuilt in 1889.
