Culture and history

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary already stood in Katusice in 1352. Its present form dates from 1853, after it was rebuilt following a fire. In the park on the village green stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1727.

The rural homestead No. 12 in Katusice has been a protected cultural monument since 1995 and is also the birthplace of Jan Nepomuk Krouský. The Cihelna Krouského archaeological site comprises a cemetery and a settlement from the La Tène period.

Landscape

Katusice is located in the Podbezdězí landscape. From Katusice, there are views of Bezděz Castle and Vrátenská Hora. In clear weather, the view from Katusice extends as far as Ještěd.

Near Katusice is the Husův kámen memorial stone at a spring in Dolce; it can be reached from Katusice via a forest path.

Cycling

The 2022 Tour de Katusice started on June 4 in front of the Katusice cultural center. In 2022, the adult route was 55 km long.
